For the past 15 years, the Refuge has become an ideal place to go on night walks while in Monteverde; one of the best activities to do in this amazing destination.
From Farmland to Forest
More than 20 years ago, Don Alfredo and Doña Luisa transformed their former dairy farm into what is now Refugio Monteverde. Today, three generations of the Camacho family continue protecting this cloud forest through conservation, restoration and responsible tourism.
